Well

Thursday, October 9th, 2008 by kninjette

Now that the cat’s out of the bag, and I “no longer need to swallow” I’m accepting any or all of your mismatched, poorly colored, silly, whimisical baby items, made specially by *you*. Unfourtunately, this weekend is a bust when it comes to stitch n bitch, since it’s Thanksgiving and all, but I have every intention of filling as many saturdays as possible with the company of my favorite crochet hooks and knitting needles.

Since finding out, I’ve decided that I’m going to do my best for the next year to finish all unfinished projects and ideas, and use up all that yarn I have kicking around so that I don’t start the new life still procrastinating or worse, gettting bored half way through and giving up. I have successfully finished a pair of socks (hard for me since it involves duplicating something) and I have picked up and am finishing the beautiful (how could I have put this down) cashmere shawl. Hopefully this means that I won’t buy new yarn for the next while, the plan is to whittle away at the stash.

Also, now that Chris and I are going to be moving, I will have a house, which means a basement, which means Angoras. MMmmmmmm. Angora. No sheep for me, but I’ll live with the alternative. Especially since it will make Chris Happier. Anything for that. God I love that guy.

A call out to Mel

I need you to photograph yourself in the rainbow bright bikini so I can post it :)
I finished it at Stitch n Bitch, for those of you who did not notice ;) It’s quite cute

Once again, my plans for Brandon have fallen through.

So I guess I’m free for S/B on Saturday. Where oh where should we yarn addicts untie? I vote on Sherwood Park, since it was part of the original mission statement ( ;) ). For those of you without transportation, some can be arranged, we’ve got some cars to go around :)

I’m doing a beading tutorial if you’re interested. So, I’ll go through methods and techniques. If you are interested, bring some beads, crochet thread or beading wire, and an apropriate size of needles or hook.

Saturday. Remedy? 1300hrs
:)

So it seems

It looks like we have a regular thing. Let’s always do Stichy Bitchy on every other saturday afternoon. I don’t think we need  a fixed location, despite the fact that it’s always been at Remedy. So, in the new year, let’s try a few other places. This coming week, I’m afraid, we are stuck at Remedy due to the fact that I don’t think I have an available vehicle, making it impossible for any of the Edmonton crowd to make it anywhere outside a 2km radius.

I’ve recently come across some great inspiration in the stuffed crochet arena. Amigurumi, specifically, and I’ve found a whole host of free patterns and ideas.

Just as an example, this year, I bought some girlfriends Goats for Christmas. You know, the ones you buy for villages in the developing world. Anyway, I attatched a handmade, crocheted stuffed goat head so they had something to “show for it”.  I’ll bring in the patterns for the next one. And I was thinking that, really, it wouldn’t be so bad to meet on Saturday afternoon at around 1, would it? Just an idea, ladies :)    Amigurumi Octopus

Next Bitchy Stitchy?

Anyone have any objections to Saturday the 8th? Or Sunday the 9th? I prefer Saturday afternoon. Same time, same place?

Assghans. In or out?

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007 by Mel

Indeed, our first stitch and bitch was a success on all fronts. Location, location, location. We indulged in a cross-section of convo. and recommends. As witnessed by the takeparters ( ;)), there were a variety of skill levels, from the squarely determined, to the denial of reality assghans, to awesome nipples covers to perrrrty scarves to the one lone man. He is a slow convert, knitting a yarn on the laptop instead but I feel with exposure to our ways he could be swayed.

As for the assghan I think I need to back away from the cheap-ass (never hitting home so hard as in this instance) granny choices of yarn until I am, well, not 30yr.

As for more “Yarn-ins” “Stich’n'bitches” … I am up for lots and lots. I am throwin’ out the idea also of quick flyers to advert. for people who wanna bond, learn, watch in awe. Discusssssss…

I loved the location! Thanks out to Mel on that one :) *best* *chai* *evar*!
